Melbourne & Victoria tours

Melbourne, Victoria & the Great Ocean Road: Tours & day trips

Tired of the street art, coffee culture, rooftop bars and music scene in Melbourne? Looking to discover new horizons, far away from city life?
No, of course you’re not. You’d have to be weird to ever get bored of dear Melbs.
But listen here. There is heaps to do just a few hours outside of this barista-ruled bubble. Like blazing down one of the world’s most famous roads with your mates, watching the world’s cutest penguins waddle ashore come sunset on Phillip Island, and touring Victoria’s wineries for 11 hours straight, trying to convince yourself you’re a classy and sophisticated viticultural aficionado… and not just a drunk backpacker on a day trip.

Brief examples below… but we’ll talk your head off about more when you call into our Melbourne store for a cuppa.

Great Ocean Road tour

The Great and Powerful Oz’s most famous road…
No. Not the yellow brick one, the other one. You know the one that has koala inhabited trees hanging over one side, and views to knock your Havaianas off on the other. Plus the iconic 12 Apostles rock formations, awesome surf, ancient rainforests, and the odd lighthouse or two.
Well, we can send you down that one with a troupe of like-minded backpackers for either a day, or for an overnight stay.

1 day option:
Departs: Daily from Melbourne

Yarra Valley wine

Three award-winning wineries, booze tasting at the Napoleone Cider House and Brewery, sampling at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery, a gourmet lunch overlooking the gardens at Rochford Wines, a game of petanque where the winner gets a bottle of wine… Yes, we realise we’re just throwing a ridiculous list of things at you now, but when there’s this much good stuff (BOOZE) on offer, storytelling seems pointless. Chin-chin.

Departs: Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Melbourne Inclusions: Melbourne pick up and drop off, guide, wine and brewery tasting, chocolate sampling, lunch, wine, optional strawberry picking… more wine…

Grampians tour

As a rule, we don’t get out of bed before 7am for much. One of the world’s oldest and most spectacular mountain ranges however? Consider us up on our second snooze cycle.
Rich in wildlife, Aboriginal history and views that will make your knees buckle, the Grampains are worth staying in for the night before, and in Melbourne, that’s saying something. Ramble through the Wonderland Ranges, stop for lunch at Halls Gap, hike to the remarkable Jaws of Death and cool off at Australia’s most inspiring waterfall, Mackenzie Falls.

Departs: Wed, Fri, Sun (year round); Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun from November to February, when the weather’s most banging

Duration: 13.5 hours Inclusions: Melbourne pick up and drop off, National Park fees, guide, picnic lunch, morning tea

Phillip Island penguins

Watch the world’s smallest and cutest penguins waddle ashore at sunset.
We were just going to leave it at that one line, but it looked kinda sparse… Here’s the longer version. Spend the day on Phillip Island, exploring pristine beaches, picking your way through rocky headlands and searching for wallabies, wombats and dingoes. At sunset, watch hundreds of tiny little penguins tumble ashore and burrow into the dunes after a day of fishing. [Insert tears of joy and flapping hands of excitement here].

Departs: Daily from Melbourne

Includes: Melbourne pick up and drop off, Penguin Parade entry, Wildlife Park entry, picnic lunch, afternoon tea.

Neighbours Set tour Ramsay Street

If you aren’t even a little bit obsessed with these retro Ramsey Street legends (Doctor Karl, you know you’ve still got it), then you haven’t been doing backpacking, or studenting, properly. Visit the set of Australia’s longest-running TV show; snooping into sitting rooms, boozing at Charlie’s and conspiring (looking at you, Paul Daniels) at Lassiter’s. Pack your autograph book for passing cast members!
Now… where’s Gordon Ramsay?

Departs: Daily from Melbourne
Inclusions: Return transfers from Flinders Street.
